Overview
Idea for building company in providing Electronic Data Interchange service started by PT. Port Indonesia II in 1989 after some employees finished their port training in Europe. PT. Indosat Tbk. in 1994 effort conducting activity development by studying with PT. Port Indonesia II, for building company which doing in EDI service. On 1 June 1995 PT. Port Indonesia II with PT. Indosat found a company called PT. EDI Indonesia, by 51% share holded by PT. Port Indonesia II and 49% holded by PT. Sisindokom ( subsidiary company of PT. Astelindo).

When the first time founded, PT. EDI Indonesia led by Comisioner Board Herman Prayitno and A.M. Suseto (Commissary), assisted by Ferdinand Nainggolan (Dekom Secretary) and Widya Purnama Directors Council Board, Directors and Jasief S. Putrahardja ( Director Commercial ).

Services Activities
Service activities PIB of EDI Tollbooth system started at 1st April, 1997 in Tanjung Priok Port and Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Serving Cargo handling Container in Tanjung Priok Terminal Unit consist Notification Of Arrival document, Bay Plan and also Realization Report for Cargo handling, which also started since 19 Februari 1997. In effort Ritel of Purchase Order document service and Remittance Advice start to be exploited by perpetrator of Ritel business since January 1st, 1999. To support service export textile to USA and also pursuant to US Customs about usage of elektronic visa, so Sucofindo exploited EDI Indonesia services commencing by 27 November 1996.
